Europa Worldwide Group snaps up Menzies Response assets to strengthen warehousing division

Europa Worldwide Group chief executive Andrew Baxter (pictured) has launched a vociferous attack on the RHA this week, accusing it of leaking information from confidential government meetings, failing to prepare hauliers for Brexit and “substantially” causing the fuel crisis by “leaking information about fuel stocks”.

Europa has warned that more stringent rules on imports into the UK, due to be introduced on 1 January 2022, will present major challenges to the logistics sector in the months ahead.

Menzies Distribution is looking increasingly towards the parcels market as it looks to diversify the business to offset falling revenues from its core newspaper distribution business.
