Plan to develop 40-tonne autonomous trucks gets government funding

Powering electric HGVs via overhead charging cables is a much cheaper solution for decarbonising the haulage sector than other methods, according to a mechanical engineer overseeing a government-funded project into the idea.

GXO Logistics has extended its partnership with French domestic appliance manufacturer Groupe SEB in a deal which will also see it offer additional warehouse space in the UK.
