The RHA has added to industry calls for the government to pledge immediate financial support for hauliers who face going out of business because of the coronavirus crisis.

The government has launched the Trader Support Service this week which aims to help Northern Ireland firms deal with the red tape created by the new Irish Sea border, which comes into force when the UK leaves the EU on 1 January next year.

The government is seeking views on extending the longer semi-trailer pilot, despite the latest annual report revealing that the full allocation is still not running on UK roads.
